Please...please... some one help.
My DVD writer is Sony DRU G 170A and it is not recognized by the inbuilt DVD/CD burning utility of SUSE 10.3.Whenever I try to write something it says

"No CD/DVD writer found.
K3b did not find an optical writing device in your system. Thus, you will not be able to burn CDs or DVDs. However, you can still use other K3b features like audio track extraction or audio transcoding or ISO9660 image creation"

I saw the same problem in this site: *suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=41327
But didnt understand a bit of that geeky language.
Iam a complete newcomer to Linux.
Please explain in simple language

Please help.
Are there any other CD burning utility available for SUSE?

The link says...login as root and try, if it works then issue the command "chmod 666 /dev/sr?", now you sould be able to burn as normal user.
