I do not have a i20 (Petrol) but I can guide you with whatever knowledge I have or by asking my friends who have i20. As jsjs said, why not ask away the questions already!!!

You choice of thread title is very poor by the way!

Thanks to all. I know TDF members are always eager to extend their help.

My quarries (for loaded car with AC on) are as under:
1. Does the car is felt underpowered?
2. Does the lag shown in 2nd/3rd gear irritate?
3. How does stearing behave at high speed - does it remain too light?
4. How do you feel the suspension at bumpy roads ?
5. Is overtaking comfortable at highways or you need to prepare in advance before overtaking?
6. How much it struggles on steep inclines?
7. At what speed do you drive at highways and what is the mileage obtained at this speed ?
8. Is the car suitable for long drives?
9. Are you satisfied with your car?

Not sure about petrol but diesel is surely underpower...2nd gear is useless. but overall ride quality is quite good. we covered 350km from coimbatore-Bangalore in less than 4.5 hours with avg speed of 110-120km with one short stop.
we got mileage around 18-20km but that was diesel.

Well with some experience while driving it (I do not own an i20):

1. Does the car is felt underpowered?
Not at all, people with lighter vehicles do comment about it but then they have already made up their mind because i20's power to weight ratio is much lesser compared to other hatchbacks (read Swift)

2. Does the lag shown in 2nd/3rd gear irritate?
There is no lag, that I felt. Maybe asingh can clear that up.

3. How does stearing behave at high speed - does it remain too light?
I drove at around 80kmph, it was pretty stable, not too light.

4. How do you feel the suspension at bumpy roads ?
It is a luxury car, I couldn't feel any bumps :)

5. Is overtaking comfortable at highways or you need to prepare in advance before overtaking?
No idea about it. I mean with fully loaded (weight)

6. How much it struggles on steep inclines?
No idea.

7. At what speed do you drive at highways and what is the mileage obtained at this speed ?
No idea

8. Is the car suitable for long drives?
It should be. I drove my Figo all the way to Hyderabad (from Bangalore)

i20 models are Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta, Asta O(Sunroof)

Sportz has following addtions vs Magna:
Keyless entry, foldable key.
Driver airbag
Alloy wheels and wider tyres
ORVM turn indicators,
ORVM Electrically adjustable and foldable.
Better interior with leather and chrome finish.
60:40 Split rear seat.
Stearing mounted audio controls.
Price : 40k more.

1. Not underpowered is fine for ratio.
2. No lag what so ever. It can decently 'pick' on 2nd and 3rd if at low speeds.
3. Steering is fine. Is slightly sensitive, but one has to get used to it.
4. Fine.
5. Overtaking is zippy and has enough power.
6. Not able to try that.
7. Never above 60 km/h. Giving be 11-12 per liter.
8. No. (i feel this).
9. Yes.

The driver seat in the Magna is the lowdown. It cannot be adjusted vertically, and after an hour I develop a back ache. Will plan to use pillow on the back. That is the only pi$$ of point. Else the car is looker, nice interiors, runs silent. A/C is not that good though. On full blow summers the back people will feel slightly agitated.

In Bangalore its giving 13kmpl in city drives... I'd say if you drive over 20km per day on average, better opt for a Diesel car.

My friend is also looking to buy an i20. he has already made up his mind. OP if you find anything apart form whats here then let us know.

BTW 11-12kmpl. Isn't that too less? I get 11kmpl on the City (I'm a bad driver) and almost 13kmpl for a friend- fairly decent driver.

My friend is also looking to buy an i20. he has already made up his mind.

I was on the verge of taking possession of i20 as I had received loan draft in favour of the dealer. Then I took second test drive and felt the lag in 2nd gear. An i20 user told (his car had stopped besides my Wagon R at Traffic Lights) that it struggles in climbing steep roads. Like others asingh also feels that this is not suitable for long drives. He feels back pain also. Also, the back seat does not give thigh support.
Despite all these, i20 is not going out of my mind.

Today the dealer has asked me to take another test drive. He has also offered additional discount of 10000 in addition to Rs 5000 offered earlier along with free fog lamps. This will, however, not affect my decision but I shall take another test drive tomorrow or on Saturday and shall visit Honda dealer again.
