Hi guys

I have Pentium 4 2.8 GHz Northwood processor

My problem is that proccy is overheating, on idle it's 50 C and on load it goes over 80 C & I recently changed mobo

I think it's because voltage of core is always between 1.6 to 1.7 Is it normal?

Pls help

No ways can the vCore be that high. Could you tell your full system specification, and post the first and mainboard tab of CPU-Z.

core voltage normal. maybe bit high. its 130nm based P4. check the heatsink. it maybe faulty or fan not running at full speed or dust clogged its fins.

Well I guess you will not be able to lower vCore. Most you can do is to clean out the system. Remove the HSF, clean the surfaces (CPU/HSF) with Isopropyl Alcohol, apply good TIM, reseat the HSF.
