I want to buy a quad core CPU. I'm confused between Q6600 and Q8200. Which one is good one?? Also suggest me a good motherboard for this CPU. I'm looking for
1. Asus P5Q Pro
2. MSI P45 Neo-3-FR
3. Gigabyte GA-EP45UD3R.

Intel OCer
get Q8200 its 45nm compared to Q6600 65nm so it runs cooler and more energy efficient and overclocks more.
For mobo get P5Q-pro or gigabyte both are good.

Yeah but since Q6600 has more cache, I'm more towards it. Any other inputs??

if it is really necessary then go with Q6600
cuz i would suggest q8200 as it is more energy efficient.runs cooler

what will be your primary usage of the cpu?are you going to OC/extreme OC?

for mobo i'd suggest MSI.

well the Q8200 is a good proccy i am currently using it. got it overclocked to 3ghz no sweat on value ram. im sure i can push it further soon as i get a good cooler and better ram .
the advantage of Q6600 is that it has more amount of cache and ppl have easily hit about 3.6ghz on it.
but Q8200 is 45nm compared to Q6600 which is 65nm. so more cooler and lesser power conspumtion.

as for the mobo, MSI p45 platinum is a good board. im using it myself ;)

Go with Q6600 having G0 stepping/revision - 8MB cache - a noob can also overclock it to 3.2Ghz - high top locked multiplier of 9 (dunno about q8200).

Will run a little hot than Q8200 - but that's not significant upto 3ghz.

But 8MB of cache gives q6600 some edge over Q8200!

Both of them some plus and some minus.

It depends on how u use it!

MOBO HAS TO BE P5Q-PRO!
