Computer Restarts on downloading from net

Hello friends,
whenever i try to download any application file(setup) from the internet, the downloading fails and the computer restarts each time. My operating system is Windows XP. Can you please suggest a remedy?

Do u use any firewall???If not it looks like some virus or spyware at work..Download SPybot 1.4 with updates & do a full scan....Use any good antivirus & do a scan....Then check & see
