I am currently having a pair of XMS3 C9 memory module's, I was searching a 2 GB one, and found this on SMC. It's C8, but DDR3 1600, so can I use it?

Please have a look,
Corsair CMP6GX3M3A1600C8 2GB DDR3 Memory

and I am using this,

Thanks in advance.

^^
They will run, but no use mixing latencies. One will downclock.

IMO if you have budget then, go for Corsair 2X2GB 1600C9 1.65v 9-9-9-24 - Rs. 2.4k.

But i doubt that can't change the Latency & make all three work in the same latency.

I think C8 and C9's would have different latencies. To lazy to look it up.

@Sam, Yep, you are right. I wanna buy another stick for triple channel.
@d3p5kor, It's not about budget. 8GB? Well I don't think I need that much memory for my purpose :)
@Ishu- You sure that C9 and C8 have different latencies?
I'll check it anyway, and I think if they have same latency then I could easily go for a C8 :)

C9 and C8 signify latencies right?
So obviously they are different.

C9 = 9-9-9-27

C8 = 8-8-8-24

So they are different. If OP can match the existing RAM timings with the latest RAM, then i don't think its problem going for a C8.

90% it will be OK but it is recommended to go for similar modules. Just go for C9.

Different RAM modules *CAN* cause random BSODs.

I tried local stores, but they don't wanna give a single 2 GB module and also saying it won't be inside warranty if I buy a single module. Not all the shops but good one's are saying this. I don't want another 4 GB, while a 2 GB would be more than enough...m confused! :!:
