Hello everyone.

I'm going to get a laptop brought back by a relative of mine from US. My budget is around 1300$ to 1400$, but the cheaper the better, because I'm thinking of buying some accessories.

The questionaire:-

1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
Around 1300USD.(Adjustable as I'll wait for some discount at online stores)

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
Preferred: Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
Will consider: Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: Lenovo,Dell,Hp,Asus.
b. Dislike: Strictly no Acer/any other poorly built brands. And you can't convince me to buy Apple too.

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

1)Heavy Gaming and occasional movies.
2)Will use it for MatLab Programming and image processing.
3)Heavy usage of AutoCad/SolidWorks/Catia and equivalent. *at night* so will prefer a comfortable screen.

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
Any screen should do, but matte is preferred.

6) Anything else you would like to say? (eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish)
1)The online discounts available there are very good. Around **400$** off sometimes. Eg:Lenovo Y500 has 400$ discount as of now.
2)Almost all brands are available in US, but those custom built ASUS and Sager brands are not the one for me. Also, un-servicable brands in India are not preferred.
3)Cooling is absolute necessity as I will be at Nagpur,MH. Notorious for summers.
4)Something which lights up like Alienware is better.

7)My Research:
I have been though almost all imaginable websites looking for the best one.

The clear winner: Lenovo Y500, with all upgrades,i.e FHD Screen, 1TB+16GB SSD, Two GT750M(2GB GDDR5) cards in SLI.
The others are the Alienwares, Samsung 5 series, Samsung 7 Series Gamer.

8)Questions:
1)Is 16GB RAM really necessary and worth it in Y500?
2)Logitech G300 mouse or G400?
