Are you sure the 13" costs 55k? Make sure it isn't last gen macbook pro. Current gen starts from 70k i think. But yeah even at 70k its a great buy. You can also check out HP dv6 6121tx for 50k.

If you can get the previous gen MBP for 55k,go for it.
The latest gen 13 incher just got a small speed bump, nothing else.
Make sure you get the free Lion upgrade.

@red dragon...sure....n ya....the problem is i m not sure whether the engg softwares like Ansys and Matlab will work in Mac OS X loin.....further we have to buy everything including iWork for making presentations from the iStore. Hell.....iWork is for $70....first get a mac and then buy the softwares...Is there any alternative....for software like iWork. Should i go for a dell laptop with a bigger screen ?

pm me for your software requirements.
I am not aware of engineering software though.
Can help you with other software.
Ofcourse you can buy a Dell;you can get very decent windows laptops for the price the most basic MBP. Just stay away from HP DV6 series.

^^DO NOT ever try to do it again, easiest way to get banned. If you have some unbearable urge to share those things, use PM route.
BTW there are much better sources available for Mac softwares, than the link you provided.
