Whenever i start my lappy , a text file opens up automatically in the desktop screen. It says something related to shell. How to get rid of it? I tried attaching pic but didnt accept it saying some error. Here is the link to the pic: "*postimage.org/image/wpk5ouvof/"

seems like a messed up desktop.ini file issue.in my computer--organize--file & folder options--view tab uncheck hide hidden files & hide protected operating system files.open/show desktop with show desktop icons checked & you should see 2 desktop.ini files.open them in notepad to see which file is opening at startup & see if deleting that file helps(but 1st make a backup copy of that file).

This is your registry problem. Use a system restore, or better uninstall the last installed program. If problem persists use registry mechanic. All good registry editors are free. Tune up is also good but it has poor registry cleaner.

akkib89 - I would not recommend these steps as of now. I had the same issue. Got fixed within 5 mins. after using the FIXIT.
