Hi,
My old pc component is dead due to "shorting" as confirmed by local mechanics. i had problem like first my monitor getting switched off with 5-10 minute of booting then after 2-3 days whole cabinet refused to start although motherboard has light on. Local mechanic is saying its not repairable. old component are gigabyte ga h97m d3h and core i7 4790k.
so i am in search of CPU Mobo and RAM primarily and then if monitor also get damaged then monitor too
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: Gaming, net browsing pc, movies and youtube. FPS games mostly. high settings, 1080 resolution.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: 1lakh. can extend like 10k more
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 11/10
5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: already Have 1x 240 gb SSD and 3x 2TB HDDs)
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: 24 or 27" Monitor, for gaming, full HD or 4k with 240hz. i have selected LG Ultragear Full HD IPS (27 inch / 68.5 cm) 240 Hz Nvidia G-Sync Compatible, FreeSync Premium, HDR 10, HDMI, USB, Tilt, Height, Pivot Gaming Monitor (27GP750-B). suggestion are welcome if better monitor is advisable
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: plan to reuse
PSU - corsair CX650M
GPU- Asus Strix GTX 970 DC2OC
Cabinet - Cooler master (i dont remember the models)
Existing Dell monitor
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: One week
9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Assembler.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Delhi, Buying locally. open for buying online if there is significant price difference.
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:
I have selected the following components if possible review them and let me know if i need to upgrade or change them
core i7 12700F
Asus Rog Strix b660-F
G Skill Trident RGB DDR4 (8x2)
(Both Mobo and RAM has RGB lights hence I have selected them apart from their own features)
UPDATE: my monitor is working so i am excluding it from my list
UPDATE-2: As suggested in discussion that i7 12700F need dedicated GPU to boot, i changed my preference to i7 12700 having inbuilt gpu but it's costing approx 5k more.
Although i have gtx970 but it's old so i could be trapped if my GPU failed in future for whatever reason and i didn't have money to buy 3090 immediately at that time then i will be having desktop which is not booting just cause of GPU failure. So is it worth to spend 5k extra now for i7 12700?
