Buying iPhone is usually not a sensible decision for most people due to price. If you are tied to Apple ecosystem or just want the brand value, go for it. The advantage of 6S plus over the current iPhones are the metallic back & fingerprint sensor.

Android phones will always be a better value.

No, it is not a good idea. Only buy the phones that Apple is officially selling, which you can check here. At least go for the iPhone 7. Also, it is a good idea to plan ahead and buy around October-December, when prices of the older models have dropped, and sales are going on.
