If its not available, you can get its 768p display model. If you aren't used to 1080p displays in laptops, you will be fine.

MSI GL Series Core i5 8th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home/4 GB Graphics) GL63 8RC Gaming Laptop wait till Friday flipkart runs discount for this laptop and during this time its available for 54k
MSI GL Series Core i5 8th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home/4 GB Graphics) GL63 8RC Gaming Laptop Rs.64990 Price in India - Buy MSI GL Series Core i5 8th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home/4 GB Graphics) GL63 8RC Gaming Laptop Black Online - MSI : Flipkart.com

Reason I am suggesting it is has a gtx 1050 GPU and H series CPU not U and this one is light weight around 2.2Kg

MOD EDIT: Typo fixed

How is MSI warranty? I left buying them 3 yrs back when they moved there RMA (talking about GPU) so no idea how they are doing now a days. I can surely wait for a good deal because after reinstalling windows on my old Dell laptop all issues are gone so its working great, though that doesn't mean i will keep using that for a long time.

I got the Lenovo ideapad 310 a year back for 45k with i5 7th gen, 8 gigs of ram and FHD screen + Nvidia 920 MX. Not able to find it online now seems got replaced with 320 series. Check local shops.

Is the screen any good? Or is it washed out like normal low priced Lenovo ones?

That's not a great deal considering you get GTX 1050 powered gaming laptops for that price but they also weigh about 2.5 kg. My laptop is 2.7kg & I'm fine with it. The difference between 2.2 & 2.7 isn't very large but laptops under 2 kg do feel quite a bit lighter.

Don't think i7 8550U is a big improvement over i5 8250U. It's just a higher clocked variant.

Isn't the battery life much better in laptops which weigh more?
Or is the extra weight because of bad design?
Have you compared the battery capacities of the laptops?
Also if a laptop does not have DVD Drive, weight would be reduced a bit.

Bulkier models have better air flow so that keeps the heating in check. For my use even i3 is fine because I am not using anything that need lots of processing power but I guess there won't be any good model with my other requirements

Depends on battery capacity and components used
no these laptops have extra fans heatpipes that increases weight

Not necessarily true especially in case of gaming laptops as they need space for the cooling system.

Some gaming laptops have good battery life (5-6 hrs), like Dell 5577, 7567 & 7577, even upcoming Dell G series. They have a bigger battery than rest & my guess is a power efficient display. Dell 7567 had the best battery life for a gaming laptop in that budget, but then Dell realized it was far too ahead of competition & reduced battery capacity to put a GTX 1060 Max Q in its successor, 7577.

My 2 years old laptop doesn't have a DVD drive & yet weighs 2.7 kg due to the large battery & cooling system.

It's a TN panel, yeah an avg screen. One should look straight to get the best view. Wish there was an IPS panel
