1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
Upto 63k

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like:

Lenovo Thinkpad (I love the their keyboards)

b. Dislike:

Anything with Chiclet keyboards (But alas, I think I probably will have to get used to those)
Not exactly dislike, but I've heard bad things about Asus' laptops.
Also, I don't want samsung/acer.

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

It will run 24x7 (Nudge Nudge wink wink)
Casual gaming
But some high performance programs will need to be run (So I would prefer an i7 3rd gen)

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
I would be extremely pleased to get 1920x1080, but in this price range, I doubt it. (15R Turbo with FHD is 67k+)
I like matte, but can stand glossy.

6) Anything else you would like to say? (eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish)
I have so far got down to 2 options, I also would like your opinion which one I should go with (along with any other recommendations you have to offer)

HP dv6-7040tx
Dell 15R Turbo (3rd gen i7, 4GB Ram, 1366x768)

Both are ~60k.

Which one should I go for? Any other recommendations?

I talked to them. For me (Uni student), they want a scanned copy of the id card.

yes they need a proof that u r a student u have to email him a scanned copy of your i card or a take a clear pic of ur i card.

he will then show the discount in your quotation.
the discount is applied after applying taxes to the base amount.

Most probably. I'm not sure about correspondence, but probably should be valid. You should call them and confirm.

Yes, I had a chat with the CC, they mentioned "any" student who holds a valid ID card is eligible to avail the 3% discount.
