Need clarification for HDD prices..

Hi...

I live in meerut, U.P. Dealers here are saying that prices of HDD has gone up for 3 times the original price because of flood in Thailand. Is it true in any respect?

yes, that's true. and it will be that way for some time....

it's true.to be more accurate prices are gone up by ~2.5 times at places where you get the lowest price like nehru place,online shops etc.so in places like meerut increase will be more than this.

Yep, its gone up .. I remember that my friend had bought a 500GB HDD for 2K in October, but now its about 3.4K

Wait for 5-6 months before buying if it isn't absolutely necessary.

are all hdd of many companies like toshiba, samsung, WD, seagate are made only in thailand?
