Xiaomi Mi Pad : Letterboxing Problem

I wanted to ask, how bad is the letterboxing problem on the 4:3 Mi pad when you play 16:9 movies or clips.Is the experience spoiled or is it watchable ?

You can just set the aspect ratio to 16:9 in mx player itself.

I have used iPads for a few years now. They all have 4:3 aspect ratios. Letterboxing is not noticeable after a while.

So there is no way that we cann fill the whole screen with the video ?. Also is the experience good or worse than watching on an HD laptop ?

There is an option of Fit To Screen too in MX Player.

Yes but the screen's default aspect ratio is 4:3[Square] instead of a rectangle[16:9] so even if I fir to screen, I would only see some part of a 16:9 video.16:9 is the aspect ratio in which most movies and videos are shot today.

The video should be resized without cropping to 4:3 aspect ratio. Mi pad has 2048 x 1536 resolution, so playing videos at their 100% (FHD, HD) resolution won't result in cropping. You can also use stretch option.

Try playing a 848*480 video on a 1920*1080 screen at its 100% using MX player.

4:3 will be going to give you eyesore for a few days and after that you will get used to it.
