Hello,
I have a WRT54G (rev 7 non DDWRT Compatible) router, its connected to a Hathway Docsis 3.0 cable modem (via WAN Port). I have a issue with router picking wrong DHCP configuration on power failure.

this is my internet setting. DHCP will just pick the details off the modem.

this is the IP details when router after reboot (including modem).

I need to click on the DHCP release button and then click DHCP Renew to get the correct settings. it becomes a issue when I am not in house as my family members would not understand this process.

i am guessing DHCP is also enabled in hathway mode.it is recommended to use DHCP only in one device in such type of setups.disable dhcp in netgear & assign a static IP(e.g. 192.168.1.200) in your pc lan settings & then see if it helps.also in the 1st pic you posted what does the screen look like after you release & renew the dhcp.

This was actually set up by the hathway guy. he said to release and renew the DHCP settings like I had mentioned in the OP.
there are too many devices in my house which uses internet (10 devices to be exact) thats the reason I am using DHCP.

once I get renew the DHCP settings its something like this (as mentioned in my previous post) , setup page is same as before i.e., it doesn't change.
