Which AC fits my Requirement? Please Sugest...

Hello Friends, I want to buy a AC for my Bed room. My room size is : 11(w) X 20(L) X 11(H). It is at the 1st floor and there is no 2nd floor above this room. I stay at Bhubaneswar, Orissa, india where the Temperature in summer is 40 Degree (+/-). Well as I am a working Person, I will use the ac mostly on Night Hour let it be from 7PM to 7AM. AND again on weekends i.e. Saturday and Sundays. I will use the ac 4 months in summer as described above and then one or two months maximum in other sessions.

Now, Lets know the structure of my room. There are 3 large Glass windows (3 feet X 5 feet each) in 3 directions i.e West, East and North. There are 2 small Latrin and Bath rooms attached with this rooms but they have Ply Doors which are remain closed always(99 % time).

Considering the above Criterea i.e "My usage" and "structure of my room", Which AC suits best for me? I think a 2 Ton AC can fullfil my requirements. What you suggest?

Should I go for a Windows AC or Split or Cube or anything Else. As an Engineer, I would like to have a Robust Machine, which can easily last for at least 10 years. And yes, the service should be Better and I want a good Compressor that can last over years. I think Hitachi is the best Brand, But I came to know about its bad after sale Service, So any other brand can also be considered like Godrej, Voltas, O-general, Panasonic etc.

Finally, Should I go for a 5 star rated AC or 3 Star. Well, in Windows AC there are very few 5 star rated ACs but in case of Split AC 5 Star ACs are there. But my point is Should I invest around 10k to 15k extra for Split AC, which has less lifetime than that of Windows ACs. Again, the maintainance cost of Split AC is more. Well, I am not totally supporting Windows AC but, I want a good suggestion from You, experts.. Well what about Cube ACs, I don't have any knowledge on it.

Finally please describe me in detail about all the Feasible Products for my Requirements:

1) Should I go for TWO 1.25 Ton Acs or ONE 2 Ton AC will be Sufficient.

2) Should I go for Windows AC or Split AC or Cube AC or any other Design if available in market?

3) Should I go for 5 Star AC or 3 Star AC depending on my Usage as described?

4) Which Compressor is Best, I mean which company compressor is the best. I came to know that, the compressor that Hitachi is Using, the Same compressor is also used by other Companies, So is there any different in Cooling Power and Longivity if we go for other Brands.

5) Give some good suggestions on some Brands and Models that can fullfill my requirements.

Well, My Budget is upto 50k but, I would like if you can suggest me more Economic Models with Good and Robust Machines..

Please describe me in a Detailed manner so that, it will help me to chose a good machine... Please also compare the Models or Options, that will also help me in taking a decession...

Hm, I guess you're making it tough for yourself to choose. It's not that hard.
You want a robust machine? Well I don't know. But if the service man of my Hitachi is not a liar then according to him Windows machines are more robust than Split units. And their repairing cost is much lower than Split ones.
Now, the main disadvantage I found in a Windows unit is the sound. That'll be so annoying if you're not a sound sleeper. It's a deal breaker for me.
About stars, well I'll say get the 5 star one, as you'll run it for 12 hours.
For brand, I'll choose Blue Star over Hitachi. Don't think of going after Voltas, Godrej etc.
And there are some websites, which helps you to select which size (ton) you should get according to your room size.
