Video Pixelation using AMD HD6670 and Dell ST2210 22"

Hi,

I use Intel Core i5 2400 Quad @3.1Ghz
Asus P8H61-M-LX(Rev. B3)
Sapphire Radeon HD6670 1Gb DDR5
Seagate 500Gb HDD SATA2.0
Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 500W
Corsair 4Ggx2 DDR3
Dell ST2210 22" Wide LCD

I have no issues with gaming but slight pixelation/halo effect issue while watching HD videos (720p/ 1080p), it's obvious with SD video. Also, with HD/ High res pics (.jpg/ PNG/ .bmp etc) if they have dark shades or low light.

My HD videos range from ~4gb to 23gb each in size, from ~4000Kbps to 19000Kbps in video bitrates. All are MPEG4 AVC/H264 or x264. The same videos and pics look great without issues on my LG 42" LCD HDTV via Sony Blu-ray HT.

I am using the latest drivers. Tried HDMI/ DVI / D-Sub cables. Same issue with VLC player, MPHC, Total Media Theatre, WMP and Nero Blu-ray Player. Turned Hardware Acceleration on/off.

Is the issue with the Graphics card / software or the monitor?

ST2210 is a low end model so my guess is issue is with the monitor.try playing same videos on your LG TV by connecting it to PC using hdmi.

Will do that. Btw..... I did not have the issue with the videos/ pics few years ago when I used HD4650 with the same monitor. However, at that time I watched DVD-rips and BD-rips of max 2 to 4gbs only on the pc.

Yes, you were right. I need a monitor upgrade. Going to switch to LG 26" 3D monitor later this year.

Off topic: I have changed my mobo and power supply. What do you think?
Now my CPU is auto overclocked to 3.6Ghz. Cool!

I have used WMP, VLC and MPC-HC for HD video files. Total Media Theatre and Nero Blu-Ray Player for Blu-Ray discs.... the issue has already been isolated to the monitor.

Also, for the specs please compare my first post with my current signature

@OP: do a factory reset your monitor from the monitors OSD. My dad's PC has a similar issue and got corrected after the reset.

2400 has a max multiplier limited to 38x. Increasing the bclk can allow for a little more speed also.
Asus mobos have an auto oc feature. Not sure about other brands.

You are right Myth. When I installed the cpu in the new mobo, in the BIOS it showed the Target Frequency as 3.4Ghz even though my CPU is 3.1Ghz. After installing OS, Drivers and other software, I ran the Asus Auto Tune. I got a message that the auto tune was successful with a "boost" of 15% and now the Target Frequency is 3.6Ghz.

Coming back to the monitor issue: RCuber, I have already done a factory reset more than once. Didnt solve the issue.
