General uses of an engineering student i.e constant downloading of stuff, watching movies
, lots of Web browsing...light gaming, multitasking.

battery life is very important. The lighter /sleeker the better.
DOS is okay as i have win 7 ....win8 sucks big time.
I stay in Mumbai, so..Lamington?
Or online?

Lenovo Essential G580 doesn't have a dedicated gpu. a big no no.
