Using the laptop in tilted position

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I have a Zebronics Cooling Pad NC3500:

It allows you to adjust the height / angle, as shown in the pic. My question is, does it in any way harm the hard disk if you use the laptop in an inclined position for long hours? I often tilt it while it is running, so should I do it before powering on the laptop, or is it okay to tilt it in a powered-on state?

The main reason I bought this one is because it allows you to incline the laptop. As far as cooling is concerned, I am not sure how effective it was. I had seen a drop of about two or three degrees when I used the cooling pad, but I'm not sure if it was real or just my imagination. Anyway, the fan stopped working in a few months. If you want one just for tilting the laptop, this one will do. If you also need proper cooling, I'd suggest you buy some other one. Others who have used a cooling pad and found it effective can give suggestions.

Laptop hdd should not be affected by such inclined position & it is recommended to move/tilt the laptop gently. As long as you do that it should be fine.To check effectiveness of such coolers simply install hwmonitor & monitor temps of cpu & hdd.
