Hello Guys, My system is 4 years old now. So i thought of upgrading my sytem.
My current system spec is

Western Digital 500GB HDD
Cooler Master 450W SMPS
Zotac GeForce 9600GT 512MB Amp! Edition

1. Which Power Supply do you have? (Be EXACT while naming the company and model)
Ans: Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 460W

2. What is your budget?
Ans: 6k (strictly)

3. Which resolution will you game at?
Ans: Depends upon the monitor i'm going to purchase, which again i need suggestions, preferably 19"

4. What are your current computer specifications?
Ans:AMD Athlon II X4 620
2GB DDR2 Kingston RAM
Biostar TA790GXB
Western Digital 500GB HDD

- - - Updated - - -

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Gaming cum Photo/Video editing

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:15k~16k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Never

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Not Applicable.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes 18.5-19".

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Motherboard, SMPS, CASE, Processor, Speakers, Keyboard & mouse, HDD.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Within couple of months.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I have done before.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Udupi/Mangalore is closest to me.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I want a RAM, i already have 2gb Kingston 800Mhz DDR2.
Is it good thing to upgrade my rig, coz i will be wanting ddr2 ram, PCI-E x16 2.0 Slot (i don't know whats latest, coz i'm not in touch with tech since last 3 years).
I do not care about quality in monitors coz i've enjoyed like hell in 15" crt monitor, all i wanted was power saving lcd/led one. Resolution again 1024x768 was HD for me back then, so any resolution until it fits the screen perfectly and no square picture with two thick black bars on the side, fine for me.

ditch the mobo,CPU and RAM to get around 6-7k. this makes your budget 22k
now get this-

Intel G2020 ~ 3k
Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1 ~ 3.1k
Corsair Value Select 4 GB 1600 MHz ~ 2.7k
R7 250X ~ 7.5k
Dell E1914H ~ 5.5k

this would be better for gaming and video/photo editing.

thank you for the suggestions. There are several model in R7 250 series. Can you tell me particularly which is best, also RAM, may be a flipkart link. Can i have alternate specs with amd config, coz i'm fan of AMD.

R7 250x get this locally, it'd be cheaper. And an AMD config would cross the budget by around 6-7k, but anyway if you want it, replace the processor with FX4300(~5.8) and the motherboard with Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB (~4.5k).

Thank You. I hope 460w PSU will be enough for the gfx card.

if you mean you want to reuse your Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 460W, better re-think. that psu is not good. better opt for pentium g3220 (3.7k) and gigabyte h81m s2pv /s1.
