Under 35K i5 laptop from Dubai

Budget: Below Rs. 35000.

Size / Weight: Doesn't matter.

Primary tasks: HD movies; gaming. I already have a Toshiba Satellite L755, but it doesn't run games properly. I think the newer Intel processors have HD 4000 integrated graphics which would run games better than my present laptop does. Mine has HD 2000, I think.

Configuration: i5 and 4 GB RAM are a must. Might settle for an i3 as well, if it doesn't affect gaming performance. Present-day laptops probably all have at least 500 GB HDDs; in any case, I already have a 1 TB HDD on my desktop.

Brands: No preference. Have used Toshiba, and found its good enough.

Resolution: My present laptop has 1366 x 768; if I can get full HD for the amount I am willing to pay, that would be better.

Purchase place: Dubai. If it was India, I would search around and find whatever I needed, but I know nothing about Dubai.

If you are so keen on getting an i5, make sure its i5 4200M and not the 4200U. The M in the end does matter a lot.
Given your budget, try to get a laptop with GT 820M/830M. don't depend on the integrated GPU like HD 4400 or HD 4600 to run all the games.

Is it possible to get a laptop with the graphics card you've mentioned within the price limit I've mentioned. I won't insist on an i5; if I'm getting an i3 with a good graphics card that can run games properly, I'll settle for that. My current laptop, a Toshiba Satellite L755, with i3 2350M and 4 GB RAM and integrated graphics, struggles with a game like Aliens vs Predators (2010); I simply cannot play it, its too slow and by the time I turn, the alien is already next to me and killing me... Otherwise, its good enough; its not slow in anything I do at all.

Can you suggest the brand name and model number? Because I've searched on the net, and an i5 4200M doesn't seem to come below Rs. 40K.

Btw, what do laptops with a full HD display cost, minimum?

Got myself a Lenovo g50-70 from Dubai. Comes with i4500 U processor, 500 Gb hdd and 4 GB ram with windows 8.1 preloaded. Cost of the laptop was 1499 AED which is around 25k Indian rupees. Even the i7 version was available for 1799 AED( 30k Inr). Infact they also had Asus i5 model for around 23k Inr.

Prices of certain brands of laptop is definitely cheaper in Dubai. Lenovo, Acer and toshiba seems to be cheaper there however brands like Macbook are more expensive than India.

That's great! The laptop you got doesn't have a dedicated graphics card; I'd like one with a dedicated one. If you know about company and model no., please do tell. I have only used Toshiba, and I have a friend who has Lenovo and says its good. I don't know anything about Acer.

I'll be buying within the next two to three days.
