thoughts on surveillance capitalism

i know this isnt the first media documentary , we can see tech used for lame purposes just to collect data
what i feel is understand > manipulate > guide to bubble
but what if the data can be diluted/manipulated? (like overflowing /mixing with something not from interests like some code or software that runs whenever we are afk and it purposefully accesses unnecassry or not from our cliche datas / or just manipulating data ,) wouldnt this burn the tech corps heads?
Shouldnt there be any methods to retaliate against this progress i mean the govts are very slow coz of lobbying.
shouldnt people be atleast a bit skeptic b4 randomly buying smart devices?
