The 'Which Air Purifier to buy' thread from NCR

So my parents need an Air Purifier for home use. Which ones can I go for?

What I'm looking for:
  1. Average or lower filter replacement cost.
  2. Ability to work long hours.
  3. Good after sales (I've heard bad things about Mi)
  4. 'Smart' features not necessary.
  5. Should filter all bad stuff like PM 2.5 etc.

Budget is around 10K max. Suggestions.?

Also, you may post your reviews of your air purifier here, we all like to read them.

PS: Apparently, this document is a list of stuff that can be done to combat air pollution in NCR like areas by the Medianama founder.

Sorry for the weird question, but these purifiers will purify the air in your room, fine. What happens when you go out, no one is gonna purify anything then.

Have been using xiaomi mi air purifier for more than an year. I think it's the best you can buy under 10k. It can filter air better than its competitors priced upto 15k and even 20k in some cases. Wifi connectivity is an added bonus. You may consider the replacement filter to be a bit costly at 2500rs but given its a hepa filter I'm fine with the price as it makes a lot of difference. And it's easily available on xiaomi website.

it is a relevant qn. Answer to this is manifold. Doctors say that when you sleep for 8 hrs at night body needs more oxygen for metsbolism and other brain functions.And as inside pollution is more than outside pollution so we like water and food need pure air inside room.

For this HEPA and Carbon filters are required with a large surface area. Both these are present in Sharp airfurifiers made in Thailand. i personally use it and bought it in dealer price. pm me for the dealer no if interested. Price is bit high but it is a complete peace of mind.

my friend is using honeywell but that is nowhere near Sharp in terms of plasmacluster ionisation
