heh, anything is an upgrade over Stiga Kontra. Even your hand is an upgrade.

I missed old days when Mark V on both sides (Rs. 700 each) + a Butterfly blade (Rs. 1000) will only cost Rs. 2500 at max. If you can still get these for Rs. 3000 max, then go for this. Your game will increase up by a huge margin after you get used to Mark V.

A Stiga Elite used to cost Rs. 400 max and beginners could actually start with it rather going for a wooden plank like Stiga Kontra. :p Now I dunno but I can guess Stiga Kontra itself is around Rs. 300? May be even more! Stiga Elite is for over Rs. 700 and I don't think Ninja Fire and Euro 5 are much better than Stiga Prestige anyway. All pre-made are unworthy of their price. They charge you exponentially for a superficial performance increase.

When I used to play, most pre-made bats from Stag were usually a bit heavier than the competing ones. If you prefer that way, then go for Stag Ninja Fire.

Do you still get Mark V these days?I used to own one before which i had bought for about 1400/-. It was simply outstanding. The grip and the rubbers were brilliant. No idea what the price is now. Stag Ninja is good vfm. But it takes time to get used to it. I have used it a couple of times and i would recommend it.

People quote Rs. 1400 for one side for Mark V these days. Rs. 2800! What a joke!

Thx for your prompt replies mark V price at flipkart is 1500...guess custom bat would end up way too expensive so I might buy a ready bat instead...but still do u have idea of a good place in Delhi to get a custom bat made of your choice at a reasonable price ?just in case thx :)

Dont move to Mark V yet. I suggest you try out another racket till you turn pro enough to pick up a Mark V. See if you can get butterfly brand of TT rackets. They are definitely a big upgrade over your present Stiga or the Stag ones. It offers nice control and speed. I think you should get butterfly rackets in your budget. Even the lower variants of the butterfly rackets are ahead than some of the options above.

EDIT:- Ahh damn even Butterfly rackets are expensive nowadays.. I would personally recommend this model but on FK its priced at 2.2k. See if you can get this one cheap on another site.
