1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: In decreasing order of preferences. Bluray movies, internet browsing, photoshop, after effects, ms office, tally, maya, max renders, occasional gaming like Divinity: Original Sin, Metro: 2033 Redux etc.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Rs. 60,000 - Rs. 70,000.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: NO. Absolutely no.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 7 Ultimate x64.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1TB - 2TB.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes. 24" or 27". Planning to go with ASUS PA248Q.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: None.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Sept end or early Oct.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes. Assembler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Bangalore. Locally preferred. But open to buy online too.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Intel proc preferred with at least 8gb ram. The budget includes the cost of the monitor too. GPU should have a display port. The config should be able to run smoothly bluray movies/upcoming games like Shadows of Mordor with the above mentioned monitor.

Regards.

Update: I just confirmed the monitor to be an ASUS PA248Q thanks to the members suggesting it here - *www.digit.in/forum/tvs-monitors/186922-suggest-best-ips-monitor.html. So, I need the config for the build to be within the budget minus the price of the monitor. Also, please do suggest configs even if they are a little out of my budget, will see them too.
So, please guys start suggesting some good one's asap, the deadline approaches.

Hi Dippi_taurus,

I would like to add a word to help in build of PC. Here are some options for you.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor .
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory .
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Secondary: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive .
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card .

I believe these components are best for photo editing and gaming based on your budget. Also, this configuration allows for overclocking, as long as you have a stable power supply and a good case. In build, MOBO is support to SLI and CrossFire technology that means in future you can add-on a second GPU card for performance, instead of buying a new MOBO or replacing a totally new GPU. The GeForce GTX 660 2GB is better in terms of performance, mostly used for photo and video editing and stability in pixels and with that you can enjoy better graphics. I choose SSD as primary storage and WD Blue as secondary storage because during system process, you’ll be constantly saving and rendering directly from the HDD.

For better performance and for life of your system, you just add a good casing for PC and combine with a liquid cooling system on it.

Good Luck.

you wot m8?

OP isn't even looking to overclock, you suggested a Z77 mobo with a third gen i3. there's no PSU, neither cabinet nor monitor in that rig. GTX 660 is a weak GPU for 60k budget. There's no need to SLI that too with GTX 660 as it is outdated and will generate too much heat.

OP I'm assuming your budget to be 55k w/o the monitor. get these, they would be enough

i5 4570 - 14k
Gigabyte B85 D3H - 5.5k
HyperXFury 4GB - 3.5k
Deepcool Tesseract - 3k
Samsung Evo 128GB - 5.5k
WD Green 2TB -5.5k
GTX 760/R9 280 - 17k
Seasonic S12II 520W - 5.5k
