I need to purchase an 240gb SSD for my Asus h97 m-e motherboard for general use only (OS & Software's)
no gaming.
H97M-E | Motherboards | ASUS India

Plz suggest durable and cheap.

My budget is Rs. 2500/- ( can't spend more)

I have selected these 2 ssd's & they are in my budget :-

Buy Kingston A400 240GB (SA400S37-240G) at Best Price in India - mdcomputers.in

Buy Western Digital Green 240GB (WDS240G2G0A) at Best Price in India - mdcomputers.in

Please extend the budget and get MX500 250 GB 2.5" ssd. If you plan to upgrade your config anytime later, you won't be bottle-necked by dram-less ssd.

A400 is a great budget SSD. Considering how old your PC is, it is enough IMO. If you can spend more, MX500 is surely a better option, one of the top SATA SSDs.

Thanks for the reply Both of you ( sorry about late reply actually i'm out of town for 2 days) yeah i checked online both selected ssd has dram less controllers . So i can't extend my budget (firstly i want to buy 120gb one costs around 1500-1600,but checking online prices 240 gb costs around 2200-2500) which is VFM right now. Another thing my mobo has M.2 slot so is there any speed or performance difference with normal 2.5 sata ssd and m.2 ssd with same model.

Other than m.2 sata drive probably disabling 2 sata ports from mobo, there is no performance difference.
Again, don't waste money on a dram-less ssd if you plan to upgrade this PC later. If this would remain as it is, then A400 would be fine.

Edit: Surprisingly, it support nvme drives too but they are priced higher.
