Hi, My laptop's C: drive is almost full, but D: drive is 30% empty. I know I can extend it with a tool like partition manager.

The thing is I don't want to loose any data on C drive, it is OK to loose data on D.

Should I take a backup with Clonezilla first?

First of all you have to make sure whether the D drive of yours is a continuation of the partition. Since Windows messes with the naming conventions.
Only if the D drive is adjacent with the C drive, that you can merge the two drives.

Aah! I see.

The second primary is being used for Ubuntu (dual boot). So, I don't think I can expand C drive taking space from another. Do I have any other way?

I have a 1 TB empty hard drive so I can take a backup if needed.

The 14.3 GB partition here is for Ubuntu.

Yes, you cannot expand C: as is without formatting the Ubuntu partition (as it does not have an NTFS filesystem). Take a backup of your important files on your external HDD (although you will not touch the other partitions other than C: and the Ubuntu partition, still for the sake of it). Now use a good partition manager like AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition to extend your C:. After that you can merge the remaining of the formatted partition with the next partition or with C: itself (using the partition manager). It is recommended that you create a partition for Ubuntu at the end of the disk, so that you have the flexibility of extending C: again (as you can use AOMEI Partition Assistant to extend C: later without the need to format any of the two involved NTFS partitions as well as losing any data (in my experience). That's one of the reasons why I recommend AOMEI Partition Assistant).

Thanks a lot for your help man.

I just removed all system restore data, cleared windows update cache, removed search indexes, moved some apps and freed 20 GB :p

Thanks again
