HTC Desire 820,One Plus One,G Pro 2,Lumia 830(dont be fooled by specs,WP is light on hardware and 830 is a solid performer,especially in camera peformance,design and battery life by a large margin)

I must mention,if gaming is a priority,it will be better to see if his fav games are present on WP if you will consider 830 and if he can wait for 2 more days,Windows 10 for Phone will be unveiled so he can have a better perspective of the os in general

One Plus One and Desire 820 are the next best phones in terms of photos (G pro 2 loses out in low light performance,otherwise great shooter in normal conditions)

that being said,all 4 phones are solid performers in their own departments and he should be happy with any of them depending on preference

Zenphone 2 and Zoom are expected to be launched in April this year.

yep how did I forget to mention these 2!! Zenfone 2 and zoom will certainly rock the market with its pricing and features!!I suggest waiting for MWC as well!!
