So I've been planning to ditch cable and give my old FHD TV to my mom. Need recommendation for a smart TV stick within 4000. Is Amazon Firestick the gold standard or are there better alternatives? Your thoughts please.

If you are using only for 1080p just go with fire stick 3rd gen for Rs 2200. there is offer on it on oct 3

If you plan to get a 4K TV in near future, like in 1-2 years, get Firestick 4K. I bought it last year on sale for my parents for 3.6k. Otherwise, get a normal Firestick as mentioned above for 2.2k.
Firestick's UI gets regular updates, so I picked it over Mi TV box 4K. Firestick uses android as base source code, so you can sideload .apk, but you have to jump through some hoops.

I am getting a 4k TV soon but it will be a smart TV. The stick is meant for my old FHD TV. I guess normal firestick should be enough.
