1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
₹1-1.5L

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
less than 4KG
3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?
cpu,gpu and memory intense tasks

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
Ryzen if possible

6) Anything else you would like to say?

As a content creator and a CG artist, I have tasks that are cpu and gpu intense. I need to travel with it. (explained further)

I currently have an almost 9-year-old PC which also I bought at around ₹1.5L. (thanks to Digit guide :) ) Works great but now getting older.. The problem is in traveling with it. I have moved to 3 countries with my PC but only with ram, gpu and motherboard, rest I buy.

I am looking to upgrade it. The only suitable option that I could find is: (and my knowledge is limited on it)

HP Z2 Mini G4 Workstation

I have looked at some of the laptops but a pc lasts longer. As my current PC.

I would love to get a suggestion from you all specialists if there is any portable workstation available.

PS. Another question is I have 2 HDD and 2 SSD already in use. How in a new portable pc will I be able to integrate them?

Thanks a lot guys

checked the video. honestly looks perfect. great recommendation
only problem is Linus starts with $500 worth of processor
everything combining, costs double of my budget.
can you recommend a rig that costs €1600 or inr 140,000?
thanks again.

First thing you might want to zero down would be the cabinet. Since that determines the size of the PC.
( Cooler Master NR200 Optimum tech Video )

I dont think you can have 2 Hdds and 2 SSDs in a small form factor PC. Ideal option would be to move all your primary data to an M.2 SSD and have the rest of the data in an external hdd/ external ssd.

looks like i can fit upto 2 SSDs in cooler master NR200.
might look for a small external rack system for current and future HDDs.
any recommendations for processor, gpu and psu ?
thanks

I have a similar requirement but NR200 seems a little too bulky. typically sum 12 liter cases are somewhat portable. But they are expensive, not available in India and usually at max they accomodate single 2.5 inch drive.
If NR200 you can carry around maybe in a good bag, then its the perfect case with good airflow and cpu clearance space.

No, NR200 is available in india too.. and quite cheap (5.5k only).. What I was referring to was sub 12 Liter cases like NCase N1, Fractal Design Node 202..
Anyhow, try getting a good bag for the NR200, I recommend looking for good camera bag with detachable compartments..
and post pics also.. ! I am in need of similar requirements..

I do already own a camera bag, will try to fit it into that.
I am still looking for a recommendation, if everything fits well, I'll purchase this rig.
Nevertheless, surely post pictures.
thanks for recommendation. much helpful

That's the beauty with custom PCs rt? If the processor is too costly, switch it out(along with the mobo), it would be easier than you think, just make sure your new mobo have all the ports that you require. One of the problems you might face though is the new graphics cards are significantly chonkey so, for example, forget about ever putting a 3090 in there.

where do I start? or copy the whole video ? haha
You can start ANYWHERE. You can first chose your cabinet(like the nice ppl here suggested) and build your PC around it, chosing what graphics card will fit in it, what mobo(probably an ITX one) which cooler will fit etc.. One benefit with this approach is that you will exactly know the overall size of your build.

Or you could go other way round and choose the GPU first and buy the cabinet accordingly (3080 is significantly bigger than 2080 for example and would require a bigger cabinet).

As for a suggestion, try using *pcpartpicker.com/list/

thanks for the suggestions. but looks like some more research has to be done on what fits in the cabinet.
i'm afraid starting anywhere would become a monkey business later..
honestly if I or anyone would know it, wouldn't post here for suggestions. haha which is the point the of the whole forum ..

NR200 is available basically everywhere.

It is cases like the Dancase A4 and the Louqe Ghost S1 that are not.

Well, I don't wanna speak on a topic I know nothing about, and quality small size cabinets is one of them.

If you're in the EU, checkout Velka 5/7. It's a bit hard to build into but it's an enjoyable process working with high quality parts and the end result is pleasing. Also it fits into your backpack easily with less than 6L of total volume
