PC upgrade suggestions

Democracy is a myth
Hi all, back to the forum after a long long time. Got busy with family and job pressure.

PC was collecting dust with occasional torrenting use. Daughter has grown up and wants to use it.

So this needs a upgrade and here I'm.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: casual gaming and office/school work.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: 50K

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 11

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: 1TB, SSD preferred.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: No.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Mouse and Keyboard

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: September'25

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes but I'll use an assembler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Kolkata. I'm open to online/offline [Kolkata only] options

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Stay in the budget!

Thanks. Add one GFX card too in the config.

Fitting dGPU in this budget would be tough. For casual gaming, APUs are good enough. Check some reviews of AM4/AM5 APUs and see if it would be good enough. If not you have to increase your budget to get a decent gaming build.

Ok, max I can dedicate 12K for GFX card. Can you name some?

For that price, you will have to settle for older gen GPU. See if you can find 1650 Super in your budget, if not then RX 6500 XT. If you can't find these two, the next stop is RTX 3050 which would cost lot more than your budget.
Check this hierarchy as well, to get some idea.

6500XT is only matching one for me.

This is what I've shortlisted in Vedant site. My existing PSU is also 650 Watt but 10 Years old, wondering if I can reuse it. What do you guys say?

10yrs uh... I would be bit skeptical.
Just FYI, non-G 5600 and 5600x would perform better in games with dGPU but they don't have iGPU. i5 12400 would perform even better than 5600x but that platform would cost more. Even i3 12100 would do better than 5600GT in games with dGPU. Both 12400 and 12100 have F version i.e., without iGPU and would cost little less than non-F variants.
Why can't paste as embedded pic? becoming an attachment.
It's been like this for few years now. Mods/Admin have removed that option.
