ONT For fiber connection

Geek in making
Planning to get fiber connection since current broadband speed ain't cutting it.
Now after conversation with the sales guy from BSNL, he said he'll be providing ONT modem and for the same he is stating to charge 4.5k and that too for a unknown brand.
So need your help guys.
Which ONT modem should I get?

ONT's are programmed from the FTTH DSLAM. I'm not sure if the customer has a choice of purchasing a ONT from the market.

Correct, at best you can buy GPON/EPON router but that is not guaranteed to support the ISP network or all features(e.g. I think some here commented that using your own GPON router will result in no calling function on bsnl optical fiber connection & configuring VoIP is tricky).

P.S. ONT is different from GPON/EPON router, I think the sales guy was referring to the GPON router & not ONT.
