Hello Guys

I wan to build a PC for a Commercial artist student, who mainly uses, Corel Draw, Photoshop, Intuos. After Effect, Illlustrater, Primer softwoare for creating concept arts, animation and video editing, the boy is studing in commercial arts.

His current config is

Intel Pentium E2140 with OEM p35/g33/g31 motherboard
4 GB DDR 2 RAM
Intel g33/g31 onboard graphic
20inch LCD monitor

now please give me two option one, if he want to upgrade the system with graphic card

and one with new Build which can help him in his work, i am more inclined to new system, so you can exclude monitor,

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Corel Draw, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier, Illustrater, etc mainly for creating concept arts, etc, he also uses Intuous drawing hardware

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: around 30-40 thousand

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: not at all

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: may be 1 TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: if possible in budget, other else keep curent one

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:, all want to buy a complete system, may be exclude monitor and keyboard an dmouse

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Mumbai

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: yes, many

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Yes, Mumbai

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: This guy is still a student, so tight on money, so please keep budget as low as possible

Thanks

Spending any money on current config is a waste. I am not sure about which processor(intel or amd) is better for a commercial artist so wait for others but I do know that colour accuracy matters for commercial photo/art works so an IPS lcd monitor is minimum(~8-9k) or else simply buy a 2nd hand CRT monitor which will be better than any LCD monitor as far as colour accuracy is concerned(especially since for such usage looks of monitor etc don't matter).

^^Yes but main point is,based on some recent threads/posts here,it seems that intel processors are better supported by adobe products in general. If that is the case then unless ryzen offers some definite advantages it would not be ideal to recommend it.

This is for a "Commercial artist guy is still a student, so tight on money, so please keep budget as low as possible" so I don't think it is justified to spend anything above 3-3.5k on a cabinet.Same is the case with mobo,an i8100 is not like ryzen(aka overclockable) & doesn't require a 9k mobo.Asus prime B360M-D or MSI B360M Pro-VH are good options priced at ~6.3k.The saved ~5k can be used for getting another 8gb ram.

thanks all the suggestion,

he has a monitor, cabinet and keyboard mouse as of now, even he can use this current hard disk,

can you guy suggest

Processor
Motherboard
Ram
Graphic card
Powersupply

i am thinking of i3, 4 or 8 gb ram and a good graphic card and a decent power supply

he is using the current system and making good use of it, so not going for too much high end, right now, since he is a student

please suggest around 25 to 30 k

later he can upgrade monitor if he wish so,

thanks

^^No good gfx card possible in this budget plus do you think he even needs one.Minimum decent gfx card in my opinion is 1050TI which itself costs ~11k & I am not even sure all adobe/similar products will be able to utilize it completely for the required tasks. On the other hand ram(as much as possible)+ssd will always help photo/video editing works for which usually 16gb(in dual channel aka 2*8gb) is the recommended one.
i3 8100--10000
Asus prime B360M-D or MSI B360M Pro-VH--6400
2*8gb corsair 3000mhz ram--11000(vedantcomputers)(you can skip 8gb for now if budget absolutely doesn't permit it)
kingston A400 120gb ssd--1800(onlyssd.com)(for OS/software install)
Corsair CX450--3600
Total: ~33k

thanks whitestar

can we make a system with i3 7 gen, and motherboard and no ssd, we can add it later also
and add one good graphic card, imean system should be able to run without graphic card also, it if has igp, just in case graphic card goes kaput, he can stay in stand by

please give more option, i am not sure, what kind of config is require to do adobe and video editing, i dont want to overkill it so please suggest a balanced system within budget

main thing is motherboad, processor and ram, other parts can be upgraded later, i guess

7th gen is outdated plus all intel processors are currently overpriced(if you are going to pay more anyway then no point in getting an older gen processor).

Intel processors have inbuilt graphics but amd ryzen processors don't(except ryzen G processors) so with intel processors one don't need to buy gfx card but with ryzen it is must.

You can save 1.8k by not buying ssd but is it worth it,I mean you won't get anything else much better by saving 1.8k on ssd plus its benefits will be much more noticeable.

@whitestar_999 bro you got angry, please give me couple of different config, so i can finalize one
What are you talking about  I didn't even put any smiley for causing a misunderstanding. This is just how I post after losing the good old fashioned table function in older forum software. Just mix & match from 33k,38k & my athlon processor config & post your final choice here to get any further suggestions.

P.S. I think you should first decide a budget & then decide, cheaper you go lower will be the performance but only you can decide how much lower is acceptable.Check it here(you can select processors from other configs too):
UserBenchmark: AMD Athlon 200GE vs Intel Pentium Dual E2140

Cheapest gfx card worth buying is 1050Ti which costs ~11-12k so not suggesting any gfx card as it will then cross 30k.
