Please take a look at HP dm1z. Meets most of your needs.

Except that it is around 22k and 11.6". But it is very powerful for a netbook and a must buy if you can up your budget a bit. If not possible, ignore my post.

I guess i could increase my budget a bit but i have a few concerns about the dm1z :

1) Is overheating a serious problem with it ? I have heard that at the very least the fans make this a very noisy device.

2) How good is the battery life ?

In the meantime a few more suggestions would be nice too

The fan is noisy I admit but there no overheating concerns whatsoever.

Battery life is around 5hours on wifi.

What about the Sony Vaio Yb , in comparison to the dm1z ?

The specs and price seems to be more or less the same but what i like about Sony is that they offer international warranty .

It is a good alternative, but I read at a lot of places that among the AMD Fusion netbooks, dm1z is the overall winner. I use the dm1z and will be happy to answer any queries you might have regarding the netbook. I can't say much about the others without using.
