Need a new laptop as my 4 year old vaio ran into lots of problem.

Need build, screen and after sales service quality to be good atleast

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?

Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen


3) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

surfing net, watching movies, light gaming

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?

4th gen i5, atleast 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD.

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: HP, Sony
b. Dislike: Asus


6) Anything else you would like to say?
Screen resolution ( 768p (HD) / 900p / 1080p (Full HD) ) : 768p
Battery back up ( normal (3-4hrs) / extended (5-7hrs) ) : normal

No need to be skeptical, Lenovo has the best build quality out there.
Just replace HDD with SSD. This is extremely easy on Lenovo laptops.

You are skeptical about the World No.1 Computer company??
If i am not wrong, they are the only company that is making some meaningful profits from computer sales. They literally own the Asian PC market. So what if it is Chinese? Look at Japan's Sony...they chickened out of the PC market...pu$$ies....

Lenovo does not make laptops for the high end gaming segment. It's a basically a business notebook manufacturer so I wouldn't consider it the best.
The best imo is Clevo and its subsidiaries.

You have to admit it that they rule the Asian market.........

Moreover in India only 3 companies provide you ADP.......... moreover only 2 provide you ADP + On site warranty (Lenovo & Dell)

Still Z510 is better due to better GPU & CPU is of almost same performance

Lenovo is no doubt the best till mid end segment.
It doesn't sell any laptops in the high end(core i7 xm+17" screen+gtx 780m)

Dell tweaked with amd drivers too much and installing non-oem drivers( required to incraese performance significantly) causes booting problems. Besides undervolted processors suck.
