Tired of being sorry!
I want to buy a 17" TFT monitor. My budget is 8-10K.

I'm a mid-level gamer. So, mainly I will use it to playing games.

My concerns are-:

I. Should I go for a wide screen TFT or not???
II. A good contrast ratio, brightness, and at least 160 wider angel.
III. I think for gaming, the lower the response time the better.
IV. And of course the "Dead Pixel" issues.
V. If there is a DVI port - I don't mind!!!

So which is The Best TFT to get?

Plzzzzzzzz suggest! :confused::confused: :confused:

wide-screens are in fashion these days, but I would suggest getting a normal screen if you don't watch a lot of movies, normal screens have more viewable area, are better for gaming. A normal screen would be a bit costlier than a wide screen of the same size. Though you have to realize that a normal screen of same diagonal length is actually bigger area-wise than a wide screen, and also has higher resolution. So the elevated cost makes sense.

1) Do the games you play support native wide-screen resolutions?
2) Do you also watch too many movies in widescreen format (most of them are in this format anyway)
3) Can your current gfx card handle wide-screen resolutions or do you hafta buy a new gfx card?

If you answer these questions you can yourself find the answer as to whether you'd want a wide-screen or not.

Also whatever you buy look for a contrast ratio of at least 1000:1. Dead Pixel issues are kinda overhyped. At least using a laptop (again, its the same LCD), I haf not exp. even on dead pixel after using it for a period of 3.5 years.

Secondly, I saw Dell LCDs are quite cheap these dayz and also don't compromise on quality. You may wanna haf a look at them.
