Need help to assemble a PC

Right off the assembly line
Please help me in selecting components for upgrading my old PC. I am reusing a few of the old components and I need help to decide the new ones.

Components that I already have:

Monitor : LG 19M35 18.5" (1366*768)

Cabinet : HCL Beanstalk Cabinet

Optical Drive : Asus DVD super multi drive

Keyboard + Mouse

I need help in deciding :

Processor
Motherboard
RAM
Hard disk



1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run?

Ans: MS Office, VLC, Chrome,IE


2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.

Ans : Max 12 - 13 k

3. Planning to overclock?

Ans : No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?

Ans: Windows 8.1

5. How much hard drive space is needed?

Ans: 500 GB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor?

Ans: No, already have LG 19M35, 18.5", 1366*768

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?

Ans: Mentioned above

Components that I already have:

I also have to mention that I don't need a graphic card.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?

Ans: Within a week

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?

Ans: It will be done by an assembler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

Ans: Most of the online stores don't deliver to my town, so any component which is easily available locally is preferable.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?

Ans: I did a little research and found a few components but am not sure about their compatibility and that's where I need the help. Here's what I found to be best and in budget :

Processor : Intel Pentium G2030
Mobo : MSI H61M-P2O (G3)
Hard Disk : Seagate ST500DM002 500GB or WD Caviar WD5000AAKX 500GB

Need advice asap, so please help, guys!!

OP go with G3020 G3220 ~ 3.5k
Gigabyte H81M S1 ~3k
[STRIKE]HyperXFury[/STRIKE] HyperXBlu 4GB - 2.5k
WD Blue 1TB - 3.5k

Is there much difference between 3220 and 2030, because 3220 is not available at the local shop and it will be difficult for me to get it.

Where did you get HyperXFury for 2.5k?? Local shop or online store?

One more question, do H61 motherboards have USB 3.0 ports??

was HyerXBlu. i am so used to typing fury so didnt notice.

g3220 is a little faster than g2030. not much difference.

some have, some dont. you can add a USB 3.0 PCI card later on too. ~.5k
