Need A CPU Cooler For LGA775

The title says it all i guess. Broke my current cooler while fixing it ;_; can shell around Rs.500. Please suggest some. I won't be overclocking much.

THE INSTALLATION SHOULD BE EASY. THIS IS THE SECOND CPU COOLER THAT I BROKE.

I believe that 500 is too less for a good quality cooler. Your best bet would be to get some form of stock cooler.

You will have more better options if you increase your budget to around 1.5k.

I use an Antec A40 cooler myself which costs around 1.4k. It is adjustable and supports LGA 1155, 1366 and 775 socket boards.

These are barely better than stock, even if you get them.. they will perform just like stock fan

Temps by my previous cooler were fine by me. I dont need a 'better' cooler, I need a 'replacement' for my cooler.

according to the reviews, the alta 7 comes with a 3 pin fan controller, speed is NOT controllable automatically.. check your existing one if it is 3pin or 4 pin

its 4 pin. So will a Alta 7 be a downgrade for me?

Also rijinpk1 suggested Antec A20. I'll try to find it locally if its around 650-700 i'll buy it else Alta 7 is what i'll be going with.

Not a downgrade, its just that the fan will run at full speed all the time, you can consider the other one with the 120 mm fan, it has a 4 pin i think

I am using deepcool alta 7 since about a year in my home pc and its working fine till now..
Yes its 3 pin but it is silent so no problem with lack of speed control...:)
