My First Laptop --- Budget=50k

Hello
I am finally thinking of buying a laptop... So heres the questionaire

1) What is your budget?
Within Rs.50k

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
OR
Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen (if available within the budget)

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: Dell>HP>Lenovo (In order of preference, Dell then HP then Lenovo)
b. Dislike: Sony, Fujitsu, Toshiba

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Gaming, Movies and Softwares like MatLab and AutoCAD

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
No idea on this.. As good as possible

6) Anything else you would like to say?
I am a first year Automotive Engineering student and am pretty sure that my family would give me ABSOLUTELY NOTHING MORE to invest in my laptop for the next 4 years... So the laptop should have good after sales service, should be long lasting and should not get ancient in the next 4 years....

I have shortlisted the Dell Inspiron 15R 520 with the following specs

3rd Generation Intel Core i5
4 GB DDR3 RAM
500 GB HDD
15.6” HD WLED True-Life Display (1366×768)
1GB AMD ATI Radeon HD 7670M
Bluetooth 4.0
8-in-1 Memory Card Reader
Windows 7 Home Basic
One Year Complete Cover Accidental Damage Protection
15 Months McAfee Security Center

This costs me 46k.. a RAM upgradation to 8GB woul cost a further 1800 making it less than 48k.. Is there any other option with similar or better specs available at a similar or lower price???

Also, I would need a cooling pad with it.. any suggestions??? i have shortlisted the Zebronics NC 4000 for around 800 bucks... Is there any other better and equally effective option available under 1000 bucks???

check Samsung NP 550p thread, I5 version will cost you 49k, I5 3rd gen, 6GB Ram 1TB hard disk, GT 650M DDR3, with bluetooth 4.0 JBL sub woofer speakers, 1600x900P resolution, but many people also faced problems in it, so better check out its thread and clear your doubts. though im personally using it for past 2 months and never faced any problems.

its good that you have done research before taking risk, other alternate available is DELL 15R which you have already mentioned. go for it blindly.
