motherboard fiasco

hi evrybody , im a new user here
i need a decent motherbord for intel p 4 socket 478 machine
my budget is around 5ooo- 550 bucks
and also have to play around with monsters like maya , 3ds max
not serius user just like to play around these 3d appz
i hve 512 mb of RAM already , so plese help me as to
which mboard i should go for as most vendors just couldnot think over playing
movies songs.when it comes to multimedia,
So guys please help me to choose one
