modem problem

Hi Friends.
I have celeron 1GH, 40GB HDD, CONNEXANT SOFT K 56 MODEM(DATA,FAX AND VOICE) .
it works effectively on win98se but when i tried to activate my internet connection on win-xp it was not detected by xp. one of my friend suggested me that download driver from connexant website (I have original cd with me). please help me

go to control panel --- phone and modem options--
modems----see if any modems are listed. if not use the add button to add it by making the computer search for it.
if ur computer doesnt find it go to win98 and control panel---phone and modem options---modems----select the modem--properties---diagnaostics---query modem..
look if the querring is successful. if not there is some loose contact or some dust has gone into the slots

well I am using the samemodem on my comm ( Win XP ) and is working fine. There is a patch available for this modem from the windows update , download it, this may help.

If windows xp cannot delect your modem, ask windows xp to detect it maually to do so do the following.

Go to Control Panel --> Printers and other hardware ---> Add hardware
Follow the instructions on your screen. ( windows XP should detect your modem now).
