This is regarding problem of a relative. She has a Compaq Laptop having Windows 7 Started Edition. Initially She had a single user in it - Administrator. It was working all right. One fine day, when she started it, it showed just one user on Login screen but the name is Compaq. She tried to login with the same old password but it did not work. since it is locked, login screen can't be changed to classic hence user name can't be changed. password breakers can be tried but is there any simple method / any explanation for this?

Someone might have tried recovery parition.

Try opcrack bootable disk.......
it will hack password and display to you..

i expected that but she says no one has touched it.

i have suggested that only but that is a little complicated for some.

I have used Spotmau to remove Windows password, i learnt hiren is alternate freeware so +1 ^ for above suggestion
