Hi,
I loved these forums. Before purchasing my first laptop (or second tbh as the first one came as a gift) I ventured into the forums here and discussed with members before making a decision to buy the laptop which I'd loved the most. Of course in the end it was a terrific purchase and had bought an Asus N55SF @ 66k in Bangalore. I only discovered that this laptop was available in India through a friendly PM and is currently sold by vendors who import electronic goods and sell in large computer markets at cheap prices. Thanks guys that was a memorable purchase and the laptop fared well. For some reason I had given it to my younger brother and decided to buy another laptop that met my requirements more than enough. Thankfully, I had received good advice this time on getting a laptop based on specs vs price ratio and ended up getting a HP Pavilion G4 laptop @ 39k which holds an AMD Radeon HD 7670M graphics card. My first laptop was also from HP so I believed more in their customer services compared to Asus. I'd always loved to buy a dv4 for its 14" display, hence the current laptop I have is also a 14-inch display. I must be wondering it had served me its purpose for almost 6 good years and that's great to know. The laptop still works well as how it did on its new purchase day and does the job but I think it's quite old now although it isn't completely dead except for slightly overheating produced when under heavy load which can be solved by taking it to service center and getting the laptop fan cleaned off dust. Looking at exchange offers and a plethora of new gaming laptops available for free in these days I would want to know what options I have in purchasing a gaming laptop that would serve me in for at least the next 6 years. Also have opinions of buying a MacBook Air or Pro if it comes at around the same price. Anyways, help me choose the best one as I fill-in the questionnaire.
1) What is your budget? 45-55k ( can extend up to 1-2k if it's absolutely worth it )
2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer? 13", 14", 15.6"
3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook? moderate programming, moderate gaming, entertainment, internet, basics
4) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ? A graphic card in laptop ( Nvidia Geforce for Intel CPU and AMD Radeon for AMD CPU combo )
5) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? Prefer Apple, HP, Asus, Dell, MSI, Lenovo
6) Anything else you would like to say? Prefer a FHD display if the graphics card is powerful to handle games, battery backup ~ 4-5 hrs should be fine, local purchase is a better option than online purchase unless it's a reliable website and sold at a great discount
