Hi,

I loved these forums. Before purchasing my first laptop (or second tbh as the first one came as a gift) I ventured into the forums here and discussed with members before making a decision to buy the laptop which I'd loved the most. Of course in the end it was a terrific purchase and had bought an Asus N55SF @ 66k in Bangalore. I only discovered that this laptop was available in India through a friendly PM and is currently sold by vendors who import electronic goods and sell in large computer markets at cheap prices. Thanks guys that was a memorable purchase and the laptop fared well. For some reason I had given it to my younger brother and decided to buy another laptop that met my requirements more than enough. Thankfully, I had received good advice this time on getting a laptop based on specs vs price ratio and ended up getting a HP Pavilion G4 laptop @ 39k which holds an AMD Radeon HD 7670M graphics card. My first laptop was also from HP so I believed more in their customer services compared to Asus. I'd always loved to buy a dv4 for its 14" display, hence the current laptop I have is also a 14-inch display. I must be wondering it had served me its purpose for almost 6 good years and that's great to know. The laptop still works well as how it did on its new purchase day and does the job but I think it's quite old now although it isn't completely dead except for slightly overheating produced when under heavy load which can be solved by taking it to service center and getting the laptop fan cleaned off dust. Looking at exchange offers and a plethora of new gaming laptops available for free in these days I would want to know what options I have in purchasing a gaming laptop that would serve me in for at least the next 6 years. Also have opinions of buying a MacBook Air or Pro if it comes at around the same price. Anyways, help me choose the best one as I fill-in the questionnaire.

1) What is your budget? 45-55k ( can extend up to 1-2k if it's absolutely worth it )

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer? 13", 14", 15.6"

3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook? moderate programming, moderate gaming, entertainment, internet, basics

4) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ? A graphic card in laptop ( Nvidia Geforce for Intel CPU and AMD Radeon for AMD CPU combo )

5) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? Prefer Apple, HP, Asus, Dell, MSI, Lenovo

6) Anything else you would like to say? Prefer a FHD display if the graphics card is powerful to handle games, battery backup ~ 4-5 hrs should be fine, local purchase is a better option than online purchase unless it's a reliable website and sold at a great discount

I highly recommend that you get this as soon as possible:
GTX 1050Ti at 58k is just a great deal. If you can avail bank offer, then it is in your budget.

A bit cheaper option has GTX 1050 at 56k:
But upgrade to 1050Ti is for 2k is a steal IMO.

This one is within your budget:
Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen 5 Quad Core - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home/4 GB Graphics) AN515-42 Gaming Laptop Rs.79999 Price in India - Buy Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen 5 Quad Core - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home/4 GB Graphics) AN515-42 Gaming Laptop Black Online - Acer : Flipkart.com
But it has a weaker CPU as well as GPU compared to other options. It can run all games though. GPU should be 10-15% inferior to GTX 1050.

Thanks, Anupam.

Is the first laptop with GTX 1050 Ti having a Full HD display? How is Acer Nitro compared to Asus Gaming laptop? this one *www.amazon.in/Asus-FX570UD-E4168T-...223&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=gaming+laptop&psc=1

I like the Ryzen laptop from Acer Nitro very much it fits my requirements and also costs less. Will it be a good purchase for next 5 years? How's the Acer ASS in Bangalore and can I get it for cheaper outside in the market aiming for around 43-44k?

All 3 of them have 1080p displays.

Acer Nitro 5 is a proper gaming laptop with good cooling system. The other laptop doesn't even have any detailed reviews online, so better stay away from it unless the price difference is at least 7-8k. Moreover, Nitro 5 has a much better CPU.

A GTX 1050 should run all games for the next 3-4 years at least (provided you are fine with 720p 30fps after 3 years).

Acer has ok after sales. I would say only Dell has good after sales. Lenovo & HP have a better presence than Acer but not necessarily better after sales. I don't think you will find those laptops even at the sale price offline, so just buy it during the sale.

I would again emphasize on the GTX1050Ti powered Nitro 5 because next-gen consoles might get released in 2019 or 2020 which might have a GPU equivalent to GTX 1060 or better. So better get a laptop with good GPU for long term. For the price difference, 1050Ti is totally worth it. With the release of next-gen consoles, the min requirement of games would be closer to subsequent equivalent GPU or a bit weaker. So 1050Ti is a safe bet.

GPU ranking: RX 560X < GTX 1050 (+10-15% over 560) < GTX 1050Ti (+25% over 1050)
