I would like to buy Lenovo Y510, do you think it is a good deal for around 70K?
I saw it for 66K on flipkart(out of stock) but snapdeal says 77k, so don't know the exact price.

Lenovo Y510 or Lenovo Y510p ? Will you consider it a little future proof, I just don't want it to be outdated in the next say 3-4 years.

Lenovo Y50-70 IdeaPad (59-431090) Laptop

  4 gb one is cheaper than the 2 gb one on snapdeal
lol Snapdeal is great, but on lenovos website Ideapad Y50 (Black) - Hot Deal Offer | Lenovo India | The DO Store it shows 80,000 but we get 3 year of warranty.

I really need a nice laptop, and it seems y50-70 is pretty nice. I just need to check the price now, what do you think?

The screen on y50 isn't good enough for watching movies even alone, let alone the thought of watching with friends. Due to worst color reproduction, rgb values and awful viewing angles I wouldn't recommend this to anyone if you are thinking of even watching a single video on it.

Unbearable to watch movies because of the worst screen. Just too awful.

Do you own or something? As I would like to watch a lot of movies on it :/

No my friend owns it and you need to know if you are watching a movie with your friends in it...... It would just suck. Worst viewing angles and awful color reproduction. Only for gamers. Better buy a y510 if you don't have problems with the heating issue.

I don't have any friends :p only one person will be viewing the screen at a time.

Can't I change the screen a few months later to something better?

Oh! In that case, I won't be doing it. The sole reason for me buying laptop and not a computer is because I can extend the warranty on a laptop.

That is a very strange reason tbh.

If you are so concerned about the warranty, assemble a kickass PC. You will get almost 2x the performance at a lower cost. and each individual component will have warranties like RAM, procy, HDD etc. So you should not be that worried about it.

Buy a laptop only when you need portability , ease of use or getting rid of stupid wires.

Hmm. I am a freelancer and I work at home, so I don't really need portability.

But I do get in trouble when my system doesn't work even for a day, so if I get 3 years on-site warranty, it gets fixed asap.

We get only 1 year warranty on PC products, right?

I already have 2 other laptops, both lenovo, one is i5 and one is a crappy AMD, both doesn't have graphic card and I needed something nicer.

I am bending a lot towards Lenovo Y50, getting it for 74.5K, 1 onsite+ 2 carry in warranty. Worth it?

I have already been pushing my need to purchase for months now, but now my i5 laptop gave up and the service center guys want 25 days to fix it. :(

Thanks for your help.
