Learning about Networking

I need plenty of clarity on Networking in Windows XP/7 and PCLOS KDE 4.5

I have a Desktop with BSNL Dataone Connection with a modem connected to a Wiki Router. I share this connection with my DELL Studio laptop.
My Net connection is down and it will need some time to get it working again (damn BSNL).

I also use Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ mostly on my laptop.

First query:
Can I share this Netconnect with my XP Desktop while I simultaneously use it in PCLOS Laptop?
Do I have to create another Network Wifi Profile in Laptop, to which Router on Desktop can connect to access Internet? Or is there another way?

Plenty of other questions still to be posted.

You will not be able to share Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ using a simple router which has only ethernet and ADSL port.

You'll be needing a something like this: Hame HM432R
