Are you trying to insist him to buy a Lenovo model?
Look OP already mentioned he is with DELL and HP.
His primary focus on work is to develop Android apps.
I think it is not wise to insist him with a GPU based model of laptop ,and Lenovo series in particular.
Only if he likes Lenovo,then that is separate issue altogether.

At Rs.35K budget it is not possible to have an Intel i5 CPU that too in 14" screen.
You have to increase your budget by Rs.5K to get your choice of laptops from DELL or HP with Intel i5 CPU.

HP and Dell laptops have gpu (including the 840M) too
I'm asking if he needs it, why buy laptop without gpu or even R5 M230 when there are 35k-40k laptops with 820M or R7 M265, rest config remaining the same?
