Laptop Sound issue!!!!

Laptop hp-envy j049tx.
No sound from speakers and mic jack(headphones) after 2 mins of booting windows 8.1. Sound disappears after that.
System restored laptop,updated all drivers,reinstalled all drivers, enabled and disabled driver,still no sound. Have warranty, gave for repair still no use from the hp guys. they only system restored. Sound worked for one day and gone the next

KB 2962407 update played havoc with win 8-removed this and my sound was restored-same prob as yours.but that applied to window 8,try it from your instaled updates,if it works change your update method( to ask you and NOT autoupdate)

i just updated to windows 8.1. And yeah i heard about the update KB 2962407 on the hp support site. Checked for the error update, couldnt find it. Still no sound

I downloaded AudioPlaybackDiagnostic.exe from the microsoft website ran it, and it restored my audio device settings and now I can enjoy listening to my music
