Kernel with loadable modules support

Hi
am doing a package installation on linux...the software documentation stated that i need to use either a patched kernel with support for loadable modules or manually patch the kernel to bring out the same functionality.
now i just want to know which linux distro comes with loadable kernel modules? I have RHEL 5, fedora 8...do they support the function?

yes they will usually support the function.. but if you want to call the function from the right, they usually deny it.. But it doesnt matter....
