yes this is a good combo but keep in mind that you will have to take s939 pin processor for that mobo

dear also invest in some good quality ram like corsair and kingston or hynix....also if u can invest in 6600gt ot 6800gt it wuld be a power house provided u invest in a good quality 400w+ power supply from antec or coolermaster or thermaltake.
coz ram and graphic card can be bottelnecks if are not choosed wisely.

If you aren't interested in an SLI setup, consider a nForce4 Ultra mobo instead of a nForce4 SLI. Use the money saved to buy a 3200+ instead of a 3000+.

Why do you need SLI mobo? Unless you are going to put 2GPU's in it, it's a waste of money IMO. Asus A8N-E is a good mobo. Try to go for a 3200 instead ,it's really good.
